Ive noted some 'funky' stuff with the new ver.
Is there a way to go back to my earlier ver?

Yes just follow the same process. Delete the new OS from your PC and install your old one. Once you have done that DM should downgrade your Device back to the original version.

You can look here for your carrier and old OS. Just download it and install it to your PC http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support...load_sites.jsp

For me the main reason to downgrade was the volume of the speaker. I use Mapquest Navigator nightly and the voice prompts were no longer audible. Ringer was much lower in volume also. I gave 4.5 two attempts and the difference was obvious to me. There are other threads here and elsewhere noting same. If you don't use the speaker in a noisy environment as I do it may not matter to you.
