    General Help

Ok, I sifted through hundreds of posts about these.. but I didn't find what I was looking for or it was totally off-subject...

    First Question:

I have a 8320 curve. I want to change the lil blinking light for a notification. ****NOT THE TRACKBALL!!!!**** I know the trackball can't change colors. It's normally red or blue for blue tooth. I want it to flash purple.

How do I do that? Or what program can I use to change it for me. I know jivetalk will do it, but I really don't want to pay for the program because I only use MSN messenger.

    Second Question:

I must be naturally blonde or something but I can't find how to change the tone for the text, MSN, etc... I can change the phone ringer like for when someone calls me, but not the notification tones. Someone showed me once and I can't figure out how to get BACK to that screen.

REMEMBER!!! This is for the 8320 curve ONLY!! I don't care about pearls or any other versions. I want to know only about MY phone, the 8320.

    Thanks for your time. ^_^

    Edit: I'm a brunette btw...

Bb alerts is a 3rd party program that will change the led alerts.
Go into profiles and you can change the tones for different emails, texts, and so on. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

But is there a free program or something else? I looked at BB Alerts and I wasn't too impressed with it...

Nothing free that I know of. BB alerts is a very good app and you'll hear lots of stackers recommend it. I've used it on all my BB's.
    Well worth the $.

BBAlerts isn't only great for changing the color, it allows you to set the device to keep blinking until you check it. This is a very useful feature!

Also, you can tell it when to stop alerting for the day. I really like this too as I don't like blinking lights when I'm sleeping.

Overall, a great program. You can even have it blink a different color for different e-mails (filtering).
    As always, just my opinion...

Well, I can't help the first question... But I can answer the second.

Nah, its not stupidity, I didn't know how to change the tones at first either...
    Its kinda hidden.

I don't have an 8320, just an 8310, but I expect it works the same.

Go to the profiles menu. (The little speaker icon where you can set it to silent or vibrate)
Scroll ALL the way down. There's an "advanced" option.
Select it, choose the mode you want to make changes for, then you'll get a huge listing of events.

From there you can change the tones and vibration for texts, emails, calls, BBMessenger, and everything else.
Also in Holster and out of Holster options.

    Hope that helps you! ^_^
