    Frikkin trackballs

OK I replaced my pearl with a curve because the trackball died after nearly a year and I got offered a free upgrade, cool.

I have had the curve 2 weeks and now the trackball is dying! WTH is wrong with RIM? Why cant they make something sturdy..Almost all the time now my trackball buzz's like a bee and jams on downward scroll and I have had it for 2 weeks!!! Grrrr I've had about enough as I can take from these things! If it wasn't for the trackball it would be a good device!!! //end of moan...

I hate track balls, check my thread out on directional buttons instead of track balls.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ what do you mean the ball buzzez like a bee? My trackball stopped scrolling down too, but then I licked it and it worked perfectly! I read on this site that if you like it, it'll work again, sure enough. Bizzarre? I know, but hey it worked...

How hard are you pushing on the ball? I have a 8130 and a 8830 and don't have any real problems with them!

Just Clean it... mine on my 8100 does it every so often and it is usually a small pebble or lint from my pocket lodged on the inside of the trackball assembly.. its real easy to clean

same here....happens every now and then...irritating as it is, it's usually due to a small piece of lint from being in my pocket. I was VERY worried about taking the trackball apart on my own the first time I did it , but I bit the bullet and found out that it wasn't a big deal. Now when it needs cleaning...it's not a problem.

i have invested in these clean wipes that remove dust and static from electronic devices. I wipe down the trackball every few days. It has really helped with the reliability of the trackball. =)

That suck! I don't think I could go that long without my pearl...I'd have to break down and buy a new one then sell the other one on ebay or something...

Well after 4 resets its fixed, I am becoming more and more sure its a software issue... I don't know if its possible, but my Curve is only a few weeks old and the trackball is really clean, unless its a dry solder connection or something... running 4.2.2.181, reckon its worth going to .184? does the Chinese language thing matter?
