Forced to add area code when dialing

AT&T requires me to put in the 3 digit area code whenever I dial a local number on my 8310. I thought the smart dial feature would keep me from having to do this. Is there any way to have the BB automatically put the local area code in for me?

Nope, Because of the nation wide one rate plans, most Cellular networks require full ten digit dialling now.

There is no way for that to happen. Also realize that if you don't store a number with the right area code, when that person calls, that number won't show up with the person's name and will only show up as a number. Be sure to put the area code in your bb as well when entering your contacts.
