I didn't know Verizon had a black curve. I coulda sworn they only came out with silver. Sprint on the other hand I think they did. But i'm more than definetely sure Alltel came out with the black housing for it. I wish they'd already sell this housing so i can buy it for my now reborn curve. This time i'll just buy the housing no more painting for me lol

i work for at&t so i always have people for some reason coming to me wanting different housing for there blackberry.. (its usually for the red curve housing) so the verizon rep in the mall got a hold of a new curve so i told him i would trade him housings, so i did.. then i decided to paint it flat black.. (black being my favorite color..lol)

here's how it all went down:

    1. I first took it all apart (which comes like daily for me, im used to taking them apart at work to fix different problems) taped off the screen and the shiny camera area on the back housing.

    2. I used really fine sand paper.. i tryed to use this other sand paper but it was scratching it. i sanded it all down pretty well then before you spray it use windex to clean the surface.

    3. I went to my local hobby shop to get MODEL CAR paint. I went with this because usually it is mixed with a sealer, cause i didnt want to put a clear coat finish on it to make it shiny. IM all about the flat black!! Sprayed the fone and let it dry for about 2 hrs, put it back together and waaalllaahhh!!

thats pretty much everything in a nut shell, i have had a couple of pm come at me to send me there casings and ill spray them, i dont mind but just let me know..

Thanks to everyone to commented on it! i really appreciate it!!

How how much of a pain in the @$$ was it to paint?

I love that look! In the automotive world, that's called murdered out! You are now the proud owner of a murdered out curve!

but since you don't have the clearcoat, do you think the paint will come off easily after some usage?
