I'm guessing it means Free Lossless Audio Codec.

Wouldn't your file size be ridiculous? And besides, my pearl doesn't even handle mp3s very well, I bet a flac file would send it into self destruct mode.

The Q9c that I gave up for the 8330 handled it fine with a plugin... The file size isn't much more, and the quality change is noticeable, and all of my music is in flac. I'm not cramped for storage.... It would just be nice to stay consistent.

Blackberrys don't have plugins for the media player. Have you tried playing it with the media player? I doubt it is compatible though. Maybe a suggestion for RIM?

I know the New OS will play DIVX/XVID files now...(I think) They are slowly integrating more and more compatibility at least

FLAC is a no go on the BOLD... so I assume it won't work with 4.5 either. Maybe there is a 3rd party player which supports it, but I like the blackberry media player.
