What's the difference/purpose of standby vs. lock keyboard?
Standby is a lot easier to put my phone into but if standby disables my phone from doing certain things, I don't want to use it.

    Thanks in advance

I'm curious about this too. Locking the keys and standby both prevent accidentally pressing keys, and both let you know when you get a message or call. I think the difference may be in battery usage.

    Any other pinstackers know more?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I put my phone in standby during the day cause in my locker at work it constantly searches for signal, and by putting it on stby I save the battery life. When the phone comes back on I immediately get pushed all my txts and email/PIN msgs.

Saves me from carrying an extra battery

If you secure your keys, you can have it password protected. Not in standby. On standby mode you cannot make emergency calls.
I usually secure my keys password protected then put it in standby mode. And since I have a skin for my phone and put it in my pocket I don't risk making emergency calls. Take care. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
