    Dumb question

Been away for a while and I haven't been keeping up on all the changes and updates that have happened, so I apologize if this is a dumb question:

I see there is a 4.3 and 4.5 OS out - are either of them compatible with the 8300 and if so, where can I find them?

Again - sorry for the dumb question. Thanks for your help!

4.5 isnt really out yet, Its in a beta right now. we cant tell you how to get the files cause it breaks stacks rules. But there was a link to download it from a carrier but I heard it still is a beta. Ill find the link

There are still quite a few bugs with 4.5 as you can tell from the amount of posts here on the "Stacks". 4.5 has been released by Vodafone but I would wait until your carrier officially releases it. There is a thread on here that will show your carriers latest OS and 4.3 may be available for your phone so look for that or search your carriers website.

    Good luck and welcome back!

I checked the Vodaphone links and none of them seem to have a link for the 4.5/4.3 OS. Is there still a way to get the OS to test - legally, of course. I don't want to break any rules or anything, I'd just like to know if its possible to get it and if so, what I would need to do. If not that's cool - just asking. Thanks!

You'll find a lot of info on the v4.5 OS in the following topic:

    Thanks for the info!

MODS - please feel free to delete my previous post here. I didn't realize that it was verboten to ask for the beta of 4.5. (I don't really understand why I can't ask, but whatever) and I'm not trying to cause any trouble - as I mentioned, I was just curious. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The beta everyone is getting wasnt from a published website. It was leaked to peer to peer sites. So if people on stacks were to spread the beta OS around they could get in trouble with RIM. Atleast thats my understanding. but just last week this link was posted on Vodafone. So I dont know how pinstack will limit the talk about 4.5 now
