    dropped calls in TMO 8320

    I think I've been playing around with my connection settings too much and now I've been getting dropped calls almost every call I receive or make. I don't have H@H and prefer not to use WiFi, for now. Should I just be using "Mobile Network Only" or "Mobile Network Preferred?" Anyone else getting dropped calls? thanks!

    I haven't had this problem. What have you changed or installed recently?

    the may not be addressing it to customers (for obvious reasons) but it does seem as tho there are issues w/ wi-fi and the curve. stay tuned.

    I was just turning wifi on, but now it is off and connections are set for mobile network only. I called TMo about an hour ago. They had me wipe my curve and then do a restore. They also set up for me to change my sim with a local Tmo store. Seems like the wipe and restore didn't help. I don't think I'll make it to Tmo tonight. I'll have to exchange sims probably tomorrow. we'll see....

    If it happens everywhere, then it might be your sim. If that doesn't help, then I suggest getting a replacement.

    Yep happens everywhere. I hope it's just the sim. Think it's because i've been using it since 2001?

    WOW, i think these were the omni point eras? or definitely Voicestream, lol. Switch your sim and hopefully it'll be better but better than a 2001 sim fo sho'.

    So I switched my sim, but havent had much time to test if calls are still getting dropped. I was on the phone with TMo reps because my internet wasn't set up properly and several CSRs didn't understand what I was talking about, until the last rep I was transferred to. She solved my issue in a minute flat! Turns out when they replaced my sim, the rep didnt set up internet provisioning. I'll post the status of my dropped calls later.

    I promised an update. I've had one droppped call since we changed my sim. I guess the old sim was the culprit!

    even the new ones can be too...just have to chalk it up to the way memory is actually manufactured and hope that you get either a mid-range SIM or a quality SIM...if you don't know how RAM is manufactured please don't start flaming this

    always remember when you call T-mobile, and you talk to a CSR, the first thing you should always say is "I need to talk to Blackberry Support"

    It will save hours of your time and the speed of them fixing your phone is phenominal.
