Leave battery out and do not try to power up the device for at least 48 hours. Some have suggested putting it near rice as rice draws out moisture. Good luck!

    Re: dropped 8300 in water.....

Just air dry it for at least 48 hrs. Rice is a good idea, now i'm hungry. U know, just got my curve from tmo. I haven't check on this one but tmo puts a white round sticker on their phones. I had one on my last phone. White is the color for no water damage, and i think black or dark color means there is water damage to the phone. So i think if they knew, it would alrdy voided ur warranty. Can anyone confirm this?

yes most blackberry's have that sticker in the battery compartment.. if its red it means the device got wet.

    Re: dropped 8300 in water.....

it actually turns red with moisture. there are more than one in every phone, only one you can see without taking apart the phone. there are other signs of moisture that they check (corroded contacts, etc) even if you do a warranty exchange (not that i am suggesting that you should) if they decide that anything that is not covered caused the damage, they will bill you for the cost of the phone. my advice, same as theirs, don't even try to turn it on until you have made sure that it is completely dry before you put the battery in and turn it on. my other piece of advice, next one, get the insurance!
