I tried doing this but it seems that I get as far as clicking to add the .xls file and then a promp pops up advising me that no applications are available for this device! What do I do after this or what am I doing wrong. Thanks.

It seems like you are trying to download and load via your Desktop Manager, is this correct, and if so in order to stop getting that error message you will need to download and install the Operating System (OS) of the Curve you're using to your Desktop computer, reboot and install the Theme(s).

Handheld Software (v 4.2.2.180) has already been downloaded to my desktop. Is this the same as Operating System (OS) of the Curve? If not where can I find the Operating System (OS) of the Curve?

Downloaded and Installed? and you can see what OS is on your Device by pressing at the same time: "Alt" "Left Shift" and the letter "H" and look for "App Version"

It's easier to just get themes OTA.

I've had that problem a while back ago...
It seemed like I was using the wrong version of Desktop Manager.
I had the 8700c and the DM for it and when I got my Curve that same DM wasn't working for it, so I had to download the correct on for the Curve.
Hope this works out for u...

seems like a simple question but is it possible that the themes you are trying to load are for a different OS?
