Question diff. carrier OS upgrading ok on diff. unit?

well i couldnt fidn the answerr for this anywhere so here's my question,
I'm on Rogers(canada) but im using an unlocked t-mobile 8320,
if i wanted to upgarde the os do i have to use the t-mobile carrier os?
or will i be able to use the rogers os?
my t-mob has wifi and the rogers units dont ...will i lose the wifi? or is that sometype of plug and play thing that will be auto recognized when first boot?, reason i ask is i'm using 4.2.2.180(platform2.5.0.36)
and either the rogers or t-mob are newer...
    thanks in advance
*edit t-mob us os is the same still*

OS is not carrier specific it is device specific. As long as you delete the vendor.xml file you will be fine.

Yes...like Lavagirl said. It's Device specific. As long as it's a 8320 OS you'll be good. Just remember to delete the Vendor.xml.

Yes no you cannot use the 8310 OS. Will not work. Only 8320 OS will work from any carrier just remember to delete the Vendor.xml

Re: diff. carrier OS upgrading ok on diff. unit?

Right, again OS is Device specific, meaning you must use the correct OS for your device. If you try to use the 8310 OS for an 8320 you will be looking at a BRICK. Please don't attempt it. The latest OS for your device is here:

Yes!! Device specific. You don't want to BRICK you BB. I would know. I bricked my first BB.

For my 8310 - it says the product to download is: BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.338 (Chinese)

    Will it be in Chinese??

When it indicates Chinese that should mean English and Chinese, as opposed to Multi Language with several different languages.

Just dont forget to delete the vendor.alx file and you should be fine!
