    Desktop Manager v4.6 calender syncing

I have several thousand appointments I need to keep active in outlook pro. I do not have to have them all synced to my Blackberry Pearl, Curve and Storm. It takes forever to sync and I sync different phones several times during the day. I selected on the BB device to keep for 60 days. I DO NOT want it to delete my Outlook data. It looks like it wants to for some reason. It says it wants to delete XXX events from my Outlook Calender data. What do I have to do to sync only up to 60 days and NOT delete the MS data?

I changed the settings in the BB to keep appointment for 60 days. I do not want to accidentally delete my MS data. Thanks and have a great day

so you want to keep the outlook calendar data on your phone, or just on your pc without fear of deletion by the blackberry (ie your blackberry deletes the data on itself, but does not sync and delete from your PC)?

Try this and see if it helps. Go into your Sync Configuration for your calendar in desktop manager. In the set up screens, set the date range to "transfer only future items". I believe that will prevent the sync from looking at past appointments, but will not delete the past 60 days on your BB (once they are already on the device calendar)

Post any questions, and let us know how it works out.

GaryF - can't find that setting anywhere in the software, what version are you referring to?
also it seems like other out there would want this also. I just want the last 60 days and the future on my blackberry. I want ALL to be in my outlook - unless I archieve the items (that would be a solution to archieve every 60 days and I would have to set 60 days in the BB also. BUT if I enter appointments on both the computer and BB I woul dhave the sync set to merge both. I think that where the issue lies. Anyone do the same config.

The newer version software is slow as heck. It take several minutes to read and sync

    WRC,

    1. Connect your device and launch Desktop Manager
    2. Select Synchronize, then on the left side of the screen select Configuration/Synchronization, and then click on the Synchronization radio button.
    3. You should now be in the Intelisync Set up screen. Highlight Calendar and click on Setup.
    4. Outlook should be highlighted as your desktop application. Now click Next two times and you will be in the options screen. Here you can select Transfer Future Items. (don't forget to finish)

I really think this will fix your issue. I have the same settings and never get a prompt to remove old calendar items in outlook.

Let us know how it works out and post back any questions!

    GaryF,

OK my question if I use those settings. If I enter in both my BB and Outlook it looks like it syncs only future events. So if I change an event in either the BB or Outlook it looks like it will not sync. I wish to have all items within the last 60 days of today in eother the BB and Outlook to be synced. I want all future items synced. basically I want all items synced and all items removed from the BB that are older than 60 days to be remvoed from the BB to increase the synce speed. Does that make sense to you? I do not see that you have changed the BB keep sppointments setting (what do you have it set for?)

I was just rereading my posts. This is what I really want to have happen. the software to sync events no older than 60 days, sync current and future events in both outlook and the bb and to delete the old events in the bb ONLY. that's all I want...can someone tell me how to make outlook, my BBs and myself happy?
    thanks in advance
