    Desktop 4.3 not backing up 8310

    I'm having some trouble backing up my 8310. I recently upgraded to 4.3, but the same thing happened on the older version of desktop mgr. Every time I try to do a back up, it looks like it's working fine but when it gets to the Receiving Profiles part, it hangs and then I get a communication error that says, "That data was not recognized by the device."

    What does that mean? I've never even created any additional profiles, just have adjusted the pre-loaded ones.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to backup my BB.

    E3BK, i recently had this issue a while back. Best thing to do is this:

    1. Open up Desktop Manger
    2. Select Backup/Restore
    3. Go to the Advanced...
    4. Find Profiles, and Profile Options and Delete the databases.
    5. Try a backup see if it works.
    6. Then Set your Profile to your custom alerts
    7. Try backing up again to make sure it works

    That's what worked for me so let me know how it goes.

    That seemed to do it. I need to set up profiles again, but better than possibly losing all my info in case of a freak accident.

    I guess I did add an extra profile, `it changed form 6 to 5 after I cleared it. Do I have to do this everytime I back up? Can I not add any new profiles now?
