    Dead Keyboard?!?

Ok, so woke up this morning to an email but couldn't get the screen to come on. After a battery pull the screen came on and took forever to boot up. Using the track ball I am able to keep the screen on, but none of the keys work. Including the side/top buttons. Also the ball won't click on anything. The phone was around the hot tub last night but never got wet and was working fine right up until bed time.

So ya that sucks. What do y'all think I should do?

    -backup, wipe, reload os?
    -call in the warranty?

    thoughts?

if you have a warranty I would do that. check your moisture tags located under the battery cover and see if they have bleed pink. If the have your warranty is no good

8900 can be a bit tricky....

GENTLY lift the front over the small tab holding it in while pushing the SIM card out.

And before you abandon the device I would try to reload the operating system to see if that helps. (Sounds like no water damage)

Technically speaking, it is not encouraged, however practically speaking it is simple to "undo".

If you wish to test the waters (so to speak) with TMO on the warranty, they will most likely walk you through some technical support fixes and it that fails, they will send you a replacement device. These are re-furbished but from my observations they are pretty much "like new".

I mean if I just wipe it, reload tmobile os, and restore, then it still isn't working. Could they even tell that I did that/would that void my warranty?

Little update for anyone who cares:

Called tmo yesterday, they were very nice and understanding. Didn't take but 10 minutes on the phone. They next day aired me a new 8900, and to my surprise it actually showed up today. Love these guys.
