    If you have access to wifi and you are browsing, downloading or uploading big files you will not want to use the slower data rate with your BB plan.

    If you are sending email or chatting then I would not switch to wifi even if I had access to it.

    It depends on what you need. I have an 8800 and a co-worker just bought the Curve. I don't need a camera and I use the GPS alot with Telanav. His will stream mp3 files through Bluetooth while I use a wired headset for mp3. I can live with that. I also prefer the larger keyboard on the 8800. Different strokes.
