Question Curve turns on too easily!

This may be a real stupid question, but still... how do you turn off the 8320 Curve and keep it off in your pocket? After turning mine off, any accidental touch of the red power button immediately turns it back on, so it doesn't stay off for more that a few minutes in my pocket. Any ideas?

Hold the mute button on top of you're curve. That puts it on standby...then you don't need to turn it on and off.

Is there a reason you need to turn it off?

Yes, thanks, I'm aware of the standby option and use it regularly, but in a few hours I'm boarding a plane and need the Curve to be off during the flight. Is there any way to do that safely, short of pulling out the battery?

Short of pulling the battery out, you can turn it off by the red hang-up button like you said and try not to push that one button. Another option is go to the "Manage Connections" option on your BB and select turn radio off. It's won't turn your BB off but it will turn off the signal & all that stuff so you don't break and cell-phone/airplane rules. That was I do when I board man.

Yeah just turn your connection off like Hack said. You don't actually have to turn the phone off itself.

Actually you really should do both. The FAA rules say all electronics must be turned off during take off and landing. If it's in your pocket you shouldn't have a problem if it does turn on as long as the radio is turned off. And that way when they allow electronics to be turned on you can use the BB to play games or watch a video. Some airlines call that Flight mode or Airplane mode for the BB.

just buy a case for it where it covers the keys. perhaps just purchase it for travel situations like this.
