there is no reason to worry about the trackball at all. the trackball works flawlessly and precicely! no problems at all.
I agree. The trackball may be different but it certainly isn't bad. I've really liked the differences and there is no doubt the curve outperforms the pearl.

Yeah, I like the pearl trackball better...it feels smoother. I even exchanged my day old curve for a newer one thinking I had a defective trackball...preety much the same

i know the curve outperforms the pearl, but when the main navigation tool is considered sub par by more than a couple people, there is something to worry about. not stress, but plays a factor, if a small one at that.

My Curve trackball seems loose too. I guess that's the way it is.

    Re: Curve owners... (Trackball Question)

My Pearl Trackball is much more stable and responds way better than my curve ever will. I wonder if i received a Curve made on a Fridday night in the back of a bar? I'm actually dissappointed in my Curve and it's quality.

    Re: Curve owners... (Trackball Question)

Well before I bought the curve, I looked at the Pearl and the one model I tested had a really loose feeling track ball which once I tried out the Curve, the trackball was nice and tight which I prefer. So I bought the curve and love it.

    Re: Curve owners... (Trackball Question)

i never held a pearl but my 8800 was definitely sturdier and you feel the click when pushing the ball.

I would love to have some sort of guide on how to take this thing apart. All these threads + dust under the screen makes me a bit nervous.

Mines feels nice and sturdy. Nice tactile feedback from it too. No complaints, " knocks on wood ".

    Re: Curve owners... (Trackball Question)

I recently upgraded from the Pearl and I must admit that this was the first thing I noticed. The Curve's trackball is much more rattlier and feel's much more loose. I agree with Wako that the second bracket is missing. Since I still have my old Pearl, I decided to take it off and place it on the curve. I must admit that it feels a whole lot sturdier, however, it is still rattling.

My friend has an 8800 and I noticed that the trackball seemed a lot smoother and sturdier than my 8320.

    Re: Curve owners... (Trackball Question)

I also came from a Pearl to the 8320 and have found no real differences in feel or the way they performed. Both balls were smooth, performed steadily, and really felt good to the touch whenever I was working with them.

Oh my god what did I just write!!!!

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, some1 said 2 thmslvs "U knw, I really want 2 set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close engh to get the job done".
