Just thought I would throw this out there, not sure if it is listed yet, but the mute key on top of the phone, will act as a play button if you just "backed"out of media player. Just click it and your music will play or stop.

Phew, I was starting to think I was nuts not being able to locate this option in the normal options menu from the home screen.

    Thanks!

"Originally posted by Brooke03 - To lock the keys, go to the call screen like you are going to make a call, go to options, and then turn OFF calling from the home screen. you will then be able to just press the letter K and it will lock the keys."

    Re: Curve keyboard shortcuts list

OK, so now I have turned off dialing from the home screen. Now I'm left to wonder how to dial some random number during the day, for the life of me I can't figure out how to dial a number not in my phone book. I'm sure it's something simple and I'm just overlooking it...

Scratch that, I just found it myself and will post in case anyone else is having the same brain fart I am. You simply press send and the call log screen pops up and you can dial away. Sometimes I'm amazed at the simple things I miss.

    Re: Curve keyboard shortcuts list

Over the years I've compiled my own shortcut list (much of it from right here - thanks!). This is NOT a comprehensive list but only those that I want/need to refer to (things I don't do often, like looking at spreadsheets, I don't save notes on). But there are a few items not listed elsewhere on this thread.

Below are two lists - the first is stuff that isn't listed on this thread, and the second is my entire cheatsheet list.

    New stuff to this thread:

    Re: Curve keyboard shortcuts list

Alt+ESC brings up Switch Applications like Alt-Tab in Windows or Command-Tab in Mac OS X. And you can assign this function to one of the convenience keys to give you a one-button click to bring up the Switcher. By default, the last program you switched to will be selected allowing you to switch between two apps without doing much.

If you're switching back and forth between two apps, pressing Alt-ESC will toggle you between the two without any interim screen or clicks. The downside is it takes two hands to press Alt and ESC.

If you hold down the Alt key, the switcher window stays open and you can scroll to the app you want and let go of the Alt key and the switch occurs.

If you use the convenience key method, the switcher window pops up and you scroll to the app and click the trackball button. The last app you switched to is automatically selected, so if you're toggling back and forth, you don't have to scroll.

    Re: Curve keyboard shortcuts list

    Hi,

Longtime bb user, first time poster. I recently got a Curve after upgrading from an old 7780. I do a lot of PIN msging and I used to be able to use the "C" short cut key and it would prompt me to enter either an email or PIN. Now it just defaults to email with no choice, so I have to go through the menu system when I want to send a PIN, which is a pain. Anyone found a workaround?

    Thanks
    jc

New to the BB fam. I'm excited about the shortcut lists, anything to make life a bit simplier.

I went back to the pin faq and I see how it works now - I can compose from the top level menu and it will remember if I pinned or emailed the last time. Nice!

    Cheers
