Question Curve GPS Navigation with NO data downloads.

Is there such a thing as a GPS program for a Curve that has all the maps (or at least the ones we pick) preloaded onto a folder that can be saved in the SD card? Something that provides GPS navigation without using data over the internet connection of the phone, and loads the maps from the media card? Any ideas???

Also, if they nowadays have Garmin and Tom-Tom maps, already preloaded onto the respective devices, shouldn't such maps also be available for smartphones like the Curve? Just wondering..

Yes, there is such a thing. It's called TrekBuddy.

If you go to here: http://linuxtechs.net/kruch/tb/forum/index.php you can download the latest version and read how to create maps using Google Maps which you can then load on your device.

It's a little tricky to setup, but works great. It also records GPX formatted track logs - a feature I really like.

For good setup instructions, try here.

    Hope this helps!
    As always, just my opinion...
