Rep: Welcome to AT&T may I help you?
Customer: Ah yes, do you have the new BlackBerry Curve 8900?

Rep: Ahem... *clears throat* , what did you say sir?
Customer: I'm looking for the new BlackBerry Curve 8900?

Rep: Well ... uh... I haven't heard of that one before, can I show you an LG?
Customer: Actually, well, no. I'm quite set on the 8900

Rep: Oh... I see, well we have these really nice Samsung Blackjacks...
Customer: No, really I want the new BlackBerry 8900

Rep: OK sir I understand... by the way may I ask a question?
    Customer: Yes

    Rep:
    Who makes that phone?
    Customer: RIM

    Rep: Ahem... RIM?
Customer: Yes, you know the company that makes BlackBerry's

    Rep: Uh... Huh
Customer: So do you have any idea when you might be getting them.

Rep: Ahem... well sir I don't think we will be getting those.
    Customer: OK, thanks for trying

    Rep:
But sir, we have a promotion on these clamshell LG's?
Customer: No thanks *walks out of store ready to scream*

And so it goes, another day in the life of a cellular sales representative...

hey everyone! ive been an avid reader on pinstack, but never actually made an account... ive had a bb for a while now... ive been through the 7230, 7130, 8703, 8830, 8130, and now im using an 8310 on ATT and am eager to upgrade to the 8900... i find myself checking the stacks everyday for a hint as to when itll come to ATT... figured nows a good a time as any to create an account, and adding something to these forums from which i have taken so much... so for my first post, thought id ask a pretty popular question around these parts... any idea when we'll see the 8900 on ATT?? Everyone got excited about last monday, but that didnt come through... anyone have any new leads?

thanks so much for all your tips, tricks, downloads, etc...

Well, AbHitter, welcome to PinStack! Since it's been a day since you posted your message and no one has answered, there's apparently no definitive answer for the 8900 release date question!

We're all waiting (im)patiently for said news! Welcome to the club!

Rim does not want to repeat the mistake they made with the Bold by delaying it far beyond the original date.
So they just issued a FIRM release date that they can keep. Jan 12th 2011.
I realize its a long wait but hey... That's RIM.

    LMAO...you're mileage may vary....

Anyone here the rumors about AT&T getting rid of EDGE or something along those lines?

That would stink. I have no problem with EDGE. Why get rid of something that is tried and true?

Yeah, they are trying to slowly phase out EDGE and make the entire network 3G.
