No reason to switch. T-Mobile will be carrying the 8900. It should be January '09. As far as price goes, of course that's completely up to the carrier. And I'm not very familiar with T-Mobiles pricing. But the 8900 is going for $179 on a 3yr in Canada, so I figure about the same here in the states on a 2yr. The device should cost no more than $300 w/out a contract.

I have a feeling it will be $399 - $499 with no contract.

    Yes indeed !

My prediction is that AT&T will price it at $199 with a 2yr contract upgrade.

That should be the same for T-Mobile right? Usually the prices are similar with all carriers.

My T-Mobile prediction is the same as KaraBear's @ $179 since they do tend to offer very good pricing.

I still have yet to get my hands on a Bold, Archer and was pleased to see that your sixth hit the jackpot, so we shall see. I hope to see both side by side soon!

RoGro...Here's my take, all kidding aside.

I will not be getting a Curve 8900. For sure.

Why? Because I'm very happy with my Bold, it's just perfect for me.

What I truly like (and I must eat my words here) is the keyboard. I never ever thought that this style keyboard would work for me. Especially since it looks identical to the keyboard on my 8820. However this is a keyboard unlike any other. Period. And everyone knows how much of a keyboard fanatic I am. I have found this keyboard to be one that is so comfortable, fast, and with such high quality tactile feedback that I could not return to the Curve style. And I'm not being critical of it at all, as I still think the Curve is quite nice.

But the Bold (for me) is just stellar. I absolutely love everything about it. My Bold is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best BlackBerry I've ever used. I could not be happier.

    Cheers

^^^^ And that is exactly why I need to find this out for myself. As I said, I have not had an opportunity yet to go into a store and handle the device, so I need to do that soon! Thanks for the feedback!

I'm trying very hard to wait patiently, but I'm finding that I'm still tempted by the Bold. However, I really don't want to afford $299 (after rebates) for a new device that I don't actually NEED.

The 8900 will be stellar, but I'm still hankering for the 89xx that includes 3G. To me, that would be the ultimate device, but I really don't see ATT releasing it for a while so as not to compete with the Bold.

    Oh well!
    As always, just my opinion...

I agree. 3G would make it perfect. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
