    couple BB curve questions

I am looking at getting a blackberry curve through verizon so would get the 8330. here are my questions...

    1) when downloading items from the blackberry to a outlook, does it drag it all or misses some things?
    2) Can you open attachments through emails? or do you have to set it up a certain way?
    3) Can you connect the blackberry curve to a Mac or is it real hard to deal with and better with XP?
    4) Do you know if you can download what is called metro software to the blackberry? you can do it for palms and didn't know if there was a version for the blackberry.

    i think that is all.
    thanks

Congradulations on Choosing the Curve - you'll love it as I have since I got my 8330 with Telus.

    Answers:
    1) I have no idea on this: I don't sync with Outlook - sorry.
    2) You can open pic attachments just fine, but others get kinda flacky. For excel attachments, I suggest GridMagic Community Edition which you can find here: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/blog.php?b=322 - other software too!
    3) You're better of with XP to be honest - Mac support has dwindled, so stick with XP if you can - I haven't had any issues.
    4) Metro software??? What's that?? :-)

Hope that info helps and welcome to the Curve family.

Just noticed that the link I provided for Grid Magic is not listed on that blog yet. Here's the direct link: http://www.simprit.com/free/gridmagic/

Also, here's another great link for more info on the 8330: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...rve_guide.html

    Oh!

Google Maps, http://www.google.com/gmm just got updated, now providing transit info for several large metropolitan areas. Check it out! Hopefully it helps you out.

AOL Instant Messenger already comes installed with the 8330 Curve, at least with the Sprint. Also has Google Talk installed.

Not on mine - Yahoo! Messenger and Gtalk came pre-installed. You can "try" to download AIM from here: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/blog.php?b=322 but if you're on a carrier it does not support(like Telus) it won't let you install it. :-(

I use actual songs from my sd card as ringers and alarms. Works nice.

    Some Good resources:
    1) Pinstack Ringtone Directory - http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/downloads.php

    2) Zedge - http://www.zedge.net - free mp3 ringtones (kinda weird browsing sometimes when it keeps asking what model you have - choose BlackBerry RIM -> Curve 8300). Choose the one you want and it will let you save or open it to preview it first.

    3) Tune Us In - http://www.tuneusin.com/mobile - HUGE database of ringtones. All free!

    4) The On-going list of Free Ringtones - http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/47390-ongoing_list_of_free_ringtones.html - gotta love Pinstack!
