well i did my 8310 last nite and i used the fusion paint for plastic made by krylon, its a satin black im very happy with the results thanks for the idea and help guys
Haven't gone as far as painting mine yet but just changed by keypad to the black and well happy with it. Did you use a plastic primer before the top coat? I painted a phone of mine years ago and was well happy with the results.
Actually trying to put it together peeled the paint on the sides... they were extra so no biggie.

The keys stand out great! The black actually makes the white letters and numbers stand out perfect. I would recommend the black keyboard to anyone, even if you are not going to paint it.
As for paint brand, I actually used Valspar Flat Black, found at Lowes. I sanded my housing with 400 grit, pretty smooth. Then I cleaned the entire thing with Windex. Tape up all the parts you don't want to get painted. When painting, hold the paint about 2 feet away from the housing, this will ensure a thin, even coat. After about an hour of drying (this is a fast drying paint) put on another coat. Let that last coat sit over night and wahla!
Where are you guys getting the Krylon Fusion? I can't seem to find anyone who stocks Krylon.
Looks great!!! I think I might do this to mine...
