    take care guys

the orignal BB covers that come with the phone are magnetised , so do not expose them to too much heat and sunlight .
the magnet is the main reason why the bb goes on stand by when you put it in the case.

    good pointer...

also, since it is a magnet, make sure you dont keep it near devices that are sensitive to magnetic fields... for example your flash drives, hard drives etc... however weak a magnetic field may be, it can still be harmful...

The comment about keeping a magnet away from flash drives does not make sense. Flash memory is a solid state memory that relies on charge states in silicon. It is completely different that a hard drive which stores its information in a magnetic state and hence can be affected by magnetic fields.

And what makes you think the magnetic field won't affect your flash drive? I'm pretty sure I've seen that warning on many flash drives...

A flash drive isn't affected by magnetic fields anymore than velcro is.
