    Can't receive video?

my boyfriend has a 8110 and tried to send me a video and i got a message that it was deleted due to it being too large or in the wrong format. but he can bluetooth the video to me and i can watch it, so i'm assuming that it's not the wrong format. what's the limit on video size, or does this just not work at all???

So your saying you recieved the MMS with the video, then you tried to play or did you try to save it to the phone or It never fully accepted the MMS?

Hmm... I think there may be some sort of network limit on the size of MMS.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what it is... Several times I've tried sending files from my phone to an Email or to another Phone using MMS, but got rejected due to the file being 'too big'.
(I've tried from a Moto Razr, a Palm Treo, and my BlackBerry Curve.)

So, that could be the problem, but I'm not absolutely certain. =P

it never full accepted the mms. it said that it was deleted by the system. but the same video can be sent over bluetooth and works just fine, so it's not the file.

what's the upper limit to the size of files that can be sent over a mms?

That depends on your carrier I believe. I'm with AT&T and the mms has a size limit of around 300kb.

Yeah MMS size is limited on all carriers. and 300kb is about standard, If he can send it to you through email a limit will still be there, but is a lot bigger, based on Provider. And of course the BT option, but then if you are using BT you might as well lean over and wacth it on his phone!

lol yea i know, we just wanted to test to see if i could play the file at all. we weren't sure if it wouldn't play because he has video and i don't or what. but it does play, no problem.

ok so 300kb, good to know. at least now i know why it wasn't working! thanks a lot everyone
