hi there, i have a BB 8900, ad it came with a john mayer music video on it.
is there any way to get rid of it.
I tried just deleting it, but then my berry freezes, and i have to do a batt pull to get it to work again.
I also have BBfile scout, and i get net.rim.device.api.system.cont rooled acecess exceptiom [null]
my os is 18.104.22.168
How long did you wait before you did the battery pull? Try deleting it again through Media Player and wait. I just did it and it looked like my phone froze, but I left it alone. Eventually my phone came back and the mayer file was deleted.

when you go into the media player hit the menu key and then select EXPLORE.
from there navigate to the video and delete it.
Thanx s4berry, I guess it seemed a lil odd it took about 10 min to del a 6 meg video, and yet I have had 700 meg movies on it that don't take 2 min to del

There are also a couple of .cod files you can delete in order to accomplish that. You can use Maxmem (just google it, I think there is a link in some thread here too) or you can delete the files from the bb os on your computer. I'll have to edit this later and add the file names since I'm at work right now and forgot the names.
\Program Files (x86)\ for vista x64
To get to the files on your computer - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8900-v184.108.40.206_P220.127.116.11\Java - You can copy and paste that if it's easier. Scroll about 3/4 of the way down and you'll see these files:
Delete them and you're done - this will also delete the pre-installed wallpapers but there is a thread that has them. Don't delete the other two media loader files - they contain your folder icons, bb ringtones and a few other items.
