You need to use Device Switch Wizard in DM

It will ask for the original device and then the new device. It will backup and restore your settings, your contacts etc. It will not, however transfer your apps. For that you will need to do it all manually.

It can transfer the apps too. It won't keep the registration active normally. Sometimes the apps don't work all the time. ~via smartphone~

Is the 8900 already available for T Mobile? I was just looking and couldn't find it down here.

thanks. Jaided, it's been rumored to be coming to t-mobile on feb 11 but that's only a couple days away and t-mobile still hasn't announced the release date. business customers have been getting them early

You can back up your 3rd party apps by following the directions in this thread

There may be some apps that are not compatible with the 8900 OS yet

I haven't found anything that isn't compatible yet. Everything I had on my 8330 has worked on my 8900. Some of the apps have 4.6 upgrades that make them a little more interesting, but for the most part the 4.2.2 etc. apps work fine.

I went by tmobile yesterday and sure enuff its there. They gave me a model to play with and the sales girl says its expected to be better than the Bold or Storm. Of course I don't see how without 3G or a touch screen. But since its T-mobiles only offering as far as new blackberrys I might get it eventually. ~via smartphone~
