I was just curious about dropping my data plan until a new phone hits the market for AT&T *please don't suggest the 8900 i was let down horribly. (i'm waiting for Onyx or better yet my dream *Magnum*) Anywho, i was just wondering if there is anyway for me to still use my gps program without the need to have a data plan. Once again, thank you in advance to all of you that'll reply

as far as i now amaze doesn't work without data plan, the only one is Google maps which uses cell tower triangulation for your location
When i say i have Bold family phones, I meant it, from the older to the younger, even the unborn ;)

I dont know of any GPS mapping/directions program that doesnt use data to download the maps.

And a 8310 has its own GPS ealvnv, doesnt use ctt (cell tower tirangulation)

and it doesnt have wifi so thats out of the question as well ( you could map it out at home using your wifi and then heading out, and as long as you dont scroll you could still see your route at the right zoom lol

Basically you would be stuck with a texting based directions service, i know there are a couple of free ones.
It takes many professionals versed in many different area's to help the masses, I am just a single drop in that pool.
