Can the Curve's 2MP camera be WORSE than Pearls 1.2mp?

    Hey Everyone,

Just tonight I noticed something *very* strange. Here's some info:

I own a Curve 8320 (tmobile of course), and my girlfriend has a Pearl 8100 (with ATT). We took a picture of the SAME thing, under the same light, from the same angle. We both had our camera options set to the highest resolution and "superfine" quality.

My picture was grainy and hers was extremely smooth. (this was not just from one picture, but about 3 each).

Now my question is, I have a 2.0MP camera, and she has a 1.2MP.

    HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!!?!?!
Is it just my camera that does this?

PS: I've also noticed that on her screen in the preview, the pictures just look much smoother. Not sure what's going on here...did I get a bad curve or something?

    Thanks all,

    -Ventz

I'd guess you got a bad seed. My curve is way better than my pearl was, but my curve was better than my husbands.

    also noticed!

i actually own both 8100 and 8320 from t-mo and i compared the pics and also was surprised that the pearl takes better pics and i tried cleaning the lens of the 8320 but nothing i just thought that my curve had a defective camera or something. try taking pictures of text and in the pearl their readable but in the curve you cant see nothing but blurred rubish.

Well, i guess that's probably because of the image redimension to fit the screens...

Try to get both photos to your computer and compare then again.....

    Ps: I have a curve...

This type of thing could be memory related also, if you running low on operational memory for the Phone Picture quality will suffer.

Could be that your hand wasn't perfectly still.
Both my curves take great pictures, many of
which over a full mega byte.
But only when my hand is still.

My curve pictures are seriously bland. Very unimpressive.

Just an FYI, more megapixel does not equate to better image quality.

is there a difference between the shutter speeds of the curve and the pearl because that would make a difference
