Can ANY software use the Media Card for Data?

Seems bizarre to me that Zagat to go, Dictionaries, etc cannot use the media card to store information. Moving from a Treo to the BB, I find the BB is much better at communications but the Treo is much better at data.

i believe all apps use device memory and on the pearl all we have is 64kb. not sure if the curve has more memeory or not.

Yes the main apps reside in the main memory. But the data files should ideally be stored in the media card. Its strange that zagat to go can't do that.isn't there an option to move data to card??
Curve has 64mb memory too. But for some reason the os takes more memory on the curve than pearl. So the available memory is less than what's available on the pearl.
