    Calling with WiFi

I was under the impression that a hotspot plan was needed to use voice while connected to WiFi?
Apparently this is wrong, because today I made quite a few calls when WiFi was the only network available.
I called T-Mobile and asked them and they saw no charges and I don't have the hotspot plan.
    Am I missing something?

Nope, you aren't missing anything. The plan that TMo sells you is allow you to connect via UMA to Hotspots and while connected to these site, you aren't charged minutes from your monthly pool. What they don't tell you is that you can use UMA without their plan to connect via WiFi and make calls and receive emails, it's just that the minutes used will be deducted from your account. Which for me, is fine.

PS: It usually takes up to an hour or so for minutes deducted to be posted. So perhaps that's why they didn't see anything.
