    BSE (best skin ever) problems

earlier this month i ordered a bse because it came highly recommended on this site. So i order one for my curve and a little later one for my ipod. The one on my ipod went on great with no problems. The one for my curve went on with out problems as well, but a few days later i noticed some brown stuff showing up on the battery cover. I tried to wipe it off but discovered it was underneath the skin. i just ignored it because it was just a little bit. a few days later it got worse and this brown stuff started showing up on other parts of the full body skin like on the side pieces next to the screen. Anyways i finally took the skin off today and notice that the brown stuff was not on the phone but on the underside of the skin, the sticky part. I went to BSE's website to try to contact them, maybe to get my money back or better yet get a new one. I cant seem to find a way to contact them on there website. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone and how do i contact BSE?

First complaint I have seen about their product - I would bet they find a way to make you happy.

hmmm...that's very weird...i just took mine off the body (getting ready for my vaja case) and i've had it on there for a couple of months...no problems. and this isn't my first BSE. i did however notice that there was a brownish tint to the skin, but i blame that 100% on my cancer stick habit

Are you using the OEM leather pocket sleeve for the 8300? I had dark brown stain on my BB 8300 with the BSE when I was using the above mentioned case.

It sounds to me like you may have gotten dust on the sticky side of the skin and as it tightened up it began to show. It's a theory, anyway. I would do what was recommended in an earlier post -- email them and explain the situation. They're a reputable company, I'm sure they'll try to help you out.

yes i am using the above mentioned case. but im not sure why that would be doing it. it appears that the brownish tint is on the bottom of the skin. Did u contact BSE to send u a new one DocGo?

Re: BSE (best skin ever) problems

Ive had my BSE on for a month, using the Fortte brown case and I have zero stains or smears on or under the skin. With one exception, at the top left edge, where I didnt quite line up the seperate peices, it collects crud from pockets or desk fuzz or wherever. I too an exacto and trimmed it back so that there was no overhang and its been fine since. Not sure what you could have gotten under there. Were the stains right where you hold the Curve? or not related to hand position ?

Have you called/gotten a response yet?

I believe the problem is...the BSE makes the OEM a bit tighter so the leather gets in contact with parts of the phone...fortunately, the BSE acts as a barrier so the skin gets the stain but the phone remains fine.
No, I did not asked BSE for a replacement. I am using the Seidio hybrid case now and actually, had to remove the skin on the sides and battery cover (leaving only the screen protector on) for the Seidio case to fit properly. I actually liked this setup better.

Maybe it was mold from the trapped moisture.

So, I'm looking into the Seidio Hybrid now for my Curve. I can't tell from the website how this works. Is it a 2 piece setup (Hard Case & Holster)? I've held out on buying a case for my Curve but I kinda like the looks of this one. You haven't steered me wrong yet and I LOVE my full cover BSE!

Thanks for any info you've got for me on the Seidio Hybrid.

Re: BSE (best skin ever) problems

You can buy the hybrid case by itself or as a bundle with the holster.
The Hybrid case is clear on the front part of the case and the back part is rubberized.
I actually bought a clear and a rubberized case so I can use them as they are or swap them around (top rubberized, bottom clear or vice versa).
However, as some of us have pointed out, if you have a full cover BSE and want to use the Seidio case, you will need to remove/sacrifice the sides/battery cover part of the screen to have the Seidio case close correctly.
