    Broken texts

    Greetings to all
I am using a BB curve on UK O2. The problem I have recently encountered is that whenever I receive a text and it is long it gets broken into two or three texts. I have tried all the ways that I knew of to correct it to no avail and I am wondering if any one of you learned friends can shed a light on this predicament of mine.
    Regards

It may be possible that O2 has implemented the character limit on their service? I know wiht Verizon, there is a 160 char max, and when someone sends me a long winded text from ATT or something it will break it up.

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure SMS only handles 160 char or so, regardless of the carrier. I have seen phones that will link them into 1 msg (eg Nokia) but have never had my BB link them. I believe a MMS has ~1000 char limit, but I could be wrong...

I'm on Tmo and when I send texts I'm limited to 160 characters. After that it splits all the messages that I send. I do believe that it is a SMS limit and not something wrong with the phone.

I'm on tmo, but the berry should read "(some text missing)", then just wait a while and the rest will attach on to the msg. That's what mine does

So did you find a fix, or just living with it?

Some of it may have to do with the person sending the texts. When I get SMS from other BB users or T-Mo phones, it generally breaks them up but then re-attaches after downloading the rest of the message. When my gf sends me SMS (from Sprint), her carrier cuts off her texts if she goes over teh limit and there's no way for me to see what she was trying to say.
