    blackberry help removal

Anybody know how to get rid of blackberry help?I delete the service books for it but every time I do a batt. pull they get resent. I want it gone so that I can have something other than help as my home screen and deleting service books every time I reset is a pain. Any help would be appreciated.

    emeryred,

Did you try removing the application with Desktop Manager? I do not have the help application loaded and resending service books has not changed that.

Do you mean Help that takes you to the mobile.blackberry.com site? If you go to Browser/Menu/Options/Browser Configuration you should be able to change your home page there. If it won't let you, then exit the browser, go to Options/Advanced Options/Service Books and delete your browser service book. Then log in to your BIS account either via your PC or via the Email Setup icon on your BB and resen your service books. Then try again

I tried to delete the browser service books and resent them and its still there.when ever I delete the help service book my homepage is what I set it to its just that I have to do this every time I reset for it not to go to the blackberry site. I tried to find it in DM but no luck. Its as if it dosent matter what I set my homepage to if help books are there it ignores the browser setting.

You won't find that in the DM for removal. Tell me what all your browser congiguration settings are and what your options are for emulation mode and start page. Also, which service book did you remove? exact name?

I guess re sending the browser service books worked cause when I resent it I deleted help and did a batt. pull and it didn't re send help like it was doing. Thanks azstar this has been a problem for me every since I updated to 4.5 from 4.3 a couple moths ago.

I have the same issues with my 8330 and 8130 each time I try a new version of 4.5. That Help mobile bb site icon will come back at some point, but it has nothing to do with the problem. Deleting the corrupt browser service book and resending is the fix. Glad you got it working now

Blackberry help is useful if you know absolutely nothing about a berry but other than that its a headache to work around. I hate hitting go to and then typing google just to get to the page when its set as my homepage in the settings. Thanks again!

Hiding it did nothing .it just hides the icon and everytime I try to use the browser the help page is the hompage. I thought I had solved this problem but when I downloaded a new theme it was back to the way it was before I resent the browser service books.I guess this is a problem with alltel

Did you delete the "Internet Browser ICS [BrowserConfig]" service book and then resend your service books?

That's so odd, the only time I have the issue with not being able to change my homepage is after I update my OS and deleting and resending that service book is always the fix. Sorry that didn't help.

BTW does your user name mean you are a fan of the bands Emery and Red, or just a coincidence?
