BlackBerry Curve 8900, Better Screen resolution (480x360) vs Bold (480x320)

    This is my next BlackBerry...

On design, its crystal clear to most that Javelin was always to be the Curve replacement. The new Curve 8900 lacks 3G (battery killer) but packed heavy with GPS, Wi-Fi, a 480×360 HVGA+ screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a targeted release date of November 2008.

Mine as well. I upgraded from my pearl to a Curve so I can prepare myself with the full keyboard so when I get this, it will be a smooth transition.

The Javelin..... is certainly going to be my next BB.

I'm so pleased with my current Curve 8310 that I will forgo 3G, as much as I was looking forward to it, because this model has everything else I want and nothing I do not. Another distinct advantage for me is the size. At 66mm the Bold is too wide, as well as having a keyboard that is too much like the 88xx. The new Javelin had the same type of keyboard as on the Curve which I find much faster and easier to use than any other. Here are the sizes:

    Bold.... 9000: 114 x 66 x 14.0 mm
    Javelin. 8900: 109 x 60 x 14.0 mm
    Curve.. 8310: 107 x 60 x 15.5 mm

Frankly I'm really excited about the Javelin!
The overall styling is truly modern, and very clean looking. Especially the back where the camera is located. Smoothed off, with protection for the lens, as well as having the latch mounted on the battery door itself instead of the body of the phone. This should be very beneficial in the event that something happens to the latch, one simply buys a new battery door. The silver trim around the perimeter of the body is also very sleek looking. I'm thinking that this is one of those phones that will look even better in person than in the photographs. With all the raves I've read about the display on the Bold, one can only imagine how stunning it will be on the Javelin with it's higher resolution. Fantastic!
