Not sure about the release date....there was speculation about Q2 so pretty soon.

As for the price it's not going to be that much cheaper than the Bold.

I just paid $557 on amazon for the unlocked 8900. I'm on att and I just put my sim card
In and like emerald "BAM" working great except a few minor things
But I'm searching pinstack now to fix them. One thing is that my
Blackberry maps icon won't show up even though it is in the applications list

This is exactly how I feel. I actually bought the Bold within the first week it was released on AT&T, but soon returned it within my 30 days. I think I really do want the new Curve anyway. BGR said it was supposed to be released last month, and the 8210 this month, but obviously that wasn't true for the 8900.

I'm just hoping it will be 3G. While I may not always take advantage of the 3G speeds, I don't want to be behind the technology. It better come out soon!

No 3G in our area so went ahead and got an 8900. Gf needed phone so we signed her up with tmo, I got the 8900 and unocked it, staying with at&t until contract is up.
Just pop in sim, get service books sent (if needed) and go.

The 8900 is an awesome device. I never desired to get the Bold mainly because of the size. You won't regret getting an 8900.

My contract with at&t is up in October and a hoping they'll let me upgrade in August or so. I've been with them since 1997. I'll be doing one of two things. Either the Bold will go down in price by October so that it's more affordable or even better, the 8900 will be on at&t at a price I can afford.

My AT&T Rep keeps saying end of March or beginning of April

And I would assume its very soon as we have already seen pics of an AT&T Branded 8900

I'm trying to be patient. I want to upgrade from my 8320 that I bought from T-Mob but I use on AT&T but I get no discounts until September. Don't know if I can wait it out.
