I decided to paint my 8320 pearl white this weekend. I replaced the lcd screen cover with a new oem one as mine was all banged up. it allowed me to take it apart and clean the dust out between the screen/cover. let me know what you all think!

I used tamiya plastic paint, pearl white, with the pearl clear coat, and white primer. 400 grit sandpaper, and 1200 grit to finish it off by wet sanding. the painting/sanding process took about 3 hours in all including the 30 minute interval wait time. then i put two coats of pearl clear coat on and let that sit for a day. i just put the bse skin on, so now it looks super glossy and shiny!

if anyone wanted to order a second set of housings, i could do all the sanding/painting for a few bucks but you'd have to install it unless you would send a stranger your phone for two days to do the whole process which i doubt :P, i just watched a video on youtube how to take it apart, real easy.

Can't wait to log on to see it!! I love all the creative-ness with customizing berries. I LOVE this idea vs. Skinning it with a decal and the bse will protect your hard work.

thanks! yeah, my real concern was the paint potentially chipping down the road, so i made sure i was patient in the painting process and did light misting coats so it doesnt look caked on especially around the keys. it came out very nice and i'm really happy with it. the bse looks great on it, and with the white, it doesn't track finger prints and such. i've already ordered a few more oem housings and lcd cases to do other custom colors.

I know some online shops do them but for a leg. maybe i can post some in the "for sale" section for a few bucks? what does everyone think? or would that just be a waste of time =P not that this would be my new full time job, but side cash is nice!

really? or are you being sarcastic? lol, sorry i can't tell. i've seen some on ebay, but they are like cheap dyed plastic housings that ship from hong kong that are blackberry knockoffs.

the only other legit OEM blackberry custom housings i've seen are some from colorware and such that run a LOT. last time i checked it was $100, and you had to send your phone in too!?
