Your memory may be low. You can check your available memory in Options > Status.

Have you tried a battery pull?

This is happening to my 8310, as well. It only started up recently, and I've done numerous battery pulls and my memory is fine. I'm not too worried about it, as I'm going to be upgrading to an 8900 soon, but I figure more input equals faster resolution.

Same problem here. Memory is fine but the phone locks up when I try to start the camera and I have to do a battery pull. Is there any way to delete the camera function and re-install it?

To see what other apps you have open hold down the alt key and then push the back key. You can then let go of the back key to scroll through the apps but keep the alt key held down. There are something like 5 apps you can't close such as the home screen. Also when you are done with an app clicking on the red hang up key does not close the app it just kinda puts it in standby mode. When you are done with an app click the menu key and select close or exit to be sure the app has closed.

I held down the ALT key and pressed the back(del) key. Nothing came up

It's not the DEL key, but the ESC key, to the right of the trackball.
