I wonder if Amazon only does upgrades for AT&T. I went to their cell phone section and clicked on Answers to your Questions and the third question is "Can I upgrade my phone?" It only talks about upgrades for AT&T

sorry - I got my curve through att which has a choice for upgrade - TMO does not. You could start a new account and transfer your number? if you are no longer under contract? Sorry!

I upgraded my contract for 2yrs with T-Mobile and got the phone for $199 (after MIR) and a free car charger. I went through an Authorized Dealer that just opened up in my area. I talked to him about AT&T's 8310 and and price difference and he cut me a deal.

I walked up to a kiosk in the mall and told them I wouldn't get it unless I got a deal. I ended up with a free 8310 and waived activation.

luckily for me, my friend had a one a day promotion at her store where she can offer nearly any phone for free (or close to free... with the exception of the iPhone). i was able to walk away with my Blackberry for $55. doesn't beat brooke's deal of $29 for a refurbished, only mine is brand new.

and she's right, they do replace it for you...

the ABSOLUTE BEST DEAL is at wirelesbuy.com you buy it for 50$ plus shipping, you have to keep a plan of atleast 40$ and you must have a data plan for 120 days. then you also get a 50$ mail in rebate! so really its free! and ofcouse you have to have the data plan, but who gets a BB and doesnt want a data plan... aside from my wife, that just recently went back to her pearl from a curve because it was "cuter." but aside from that we ALL want data plans no? anyways thats where i get all my phones, and its with t-mo.

Refurbs actually only have a 90 day warranty and new devices have a year .
