    I charge everyday.
I usually only have problems if I'm using a chat program ALL day long.
You can set your backlight to time out faster...I have a ten second timeout.
    options > screen/keyboard > backlight timeout
you can also change the brightness from that menu as well

Yeah especially if your not using the bluetooth or wifi turn it off and conserve some battery power.

I have done all of the above and still can barely get a full day with my curve, even with setting the auto off for 6 hours while at work. my 8700 used to last like 3 days... i tried switching batteries (the old 8700 batt) thought i might have gotten a defective battery but same results any clues?

if I don't use wifi or IRC programs, I usually get a whole weekend out of the curve's battery. I have my backlight timeout set to 10 seconds and I turned off the auto-dim cause it's annoying.

    A small checklist would be:
1)If you're not using it, make sure you turn wifi and bluetooth off
2)Make sure apps are not open if you're not using them
3)If you can, try to use a holster or a pouch that has the sleeper magnet in it, it helps a bunch.
4)If you're in a place you know you don't get service and don't need the phone but still want it on, turn the mobile network off in Manage Connections

Just remember, the more data you use, the more power you use.
