I just got the 8320 and noticing the battery life on this device is not that great. The only extra program I have is jivetalk...I charged my phone til 1030 this morning and its 1110 now and I lost the first and a half bar of battery already!

    Any explainations?

    Re: Battery life

that happened to my wife when she first got hers....she just called cc and got a new one sent out for free.

it shouldn't be losing that much power so quickly.

the curve is supposed to have up to 17 days standby and like 4.5 hours talk time...and of course it has a one year warrenty through bb so tmo should send you a batter at the very least.

i am a pretty heavy user, and have jivetalk, plus a host of other programs, and regularly watch movies or music videos to pass time at work and still make it through the day without my phone dying.

    good luck.

Turning off GPS and Bluetooth can help reduce demand on battery.

If you get a new battery try to charge it for at least 6 hours before first use.

GPS only turns on when you access a application that requires it. Then it will start scanning for satellites.

Thats odd. I leave my BT on 24/7 and at the end of the day Im still usually at half full if not more(depending on usage). Im really impressed with the battery life on this phone since Ive had it.

Trust me if your GPS was always on it won't last 3 days. Constantly tracking ands communicating with the satellites will totally drain your battery within a few hours. Especially if you're using a map program with it also. Since it will be constantly downloading maps along with finding satellites.

I leave my Curve on 24/7 (don't have WiFi or GPS on the 8300) and charge it every 3-days.
