    Re: Battery life

Usually we play with new devices more and they don't sit in our pockets. Hence, the battery will seem shorter. Update this thread in a month.

I've been using the Curve for about a month and I find the Battery life around the same or better than the Pearl and even the 8700.

However, that may be because I'm pretty much an email only user.

Set your backlight timeout to 20 secs or less at least for the 1st 30 days to help counter the usage.

    good luck!

That could help. Are you doing a lot of web browsing or do you have bluetooth on?

Not much browsing, but I use BT all day. My Pearl lasted much longer under similar cond.

Set that to 70 or 80 and make sure you set "Automatic Backlight to "On"

Also make sure in your profile it only vibrates 2 times or less. Vibrating SUCKS battery life. So also make sure its set to vibrate ONLY when in holster.

    Re: Battery life

My unlocked O2 Curve which I've had a month now returns battery life just as good as my 8800 or 8700c. However as we all know battery life is something that varies dramatically depending on how you use your device.

Since my usage is always rather heavy on email, phone, text, and pin. I find the battery life about the same for all my BB's except the 8100 which will be for sale shortly.

    Question Battery life problems??

I am having problems with the battery life on my Curve. I am averaging under 5 hours of idle/talk time. I do have bluetooth on at all times. I do not use a headset but it is paired up to my vehicles built in Bluetooth dialing system...thanks in advance for any help!!

Check out the other thread here, " Re: Battery life on the Curve". I had two of them, and they were both miserable for battery life....they went back and now I have no interest in owning it. I'm not a fan of the 8300 and I think BB has some significant problems to solve with this unit. On the other hand, my 8700g is great and will last 3 days easily without a charge.

    Re: Battery life problems??

jglickman22 - welcome to the stacks

the bt will def have some battery altering power over your bb (being paired and being ON does make the difference). with that being said, i too have had some really crappy battery life. let's see if anyone else pipes in...

im not running bt at all during the day (only on commute to and from work). the only app i have running is jivetalk (and of course the bb apps that can't be shut down). that's it. i do moderate bbm and email from my bb.

i noticed this morning that i unplugged from charger and checked messages (not much time really) and within half an hour, one bar was gone. wierd.
