see what you've got running in the background. when you upgrade your OS this happens sometimes.

I go to the home screen and press the blackberry button and choose switch application. Then you can see all the apps running.

I just picked up the 8900 last weekend for AT&T - it runs .231 as that's what AT&T is supplying. In my view battery life is great. I went 2 full days before I charged and still had 35% battery at the end of the second day. I could never do this with the 8110 that the 8900 replaced.

By hitting the BB button and then switch application you will see a list of icons that show what is open. The following is always open:

    Phone
    Browser
    Home Screen
    Messages

Anything more can be closed with the button on the other side of your trackball. Stuff running in the background can and will use both valuble memory and if it is data intensive will use power. If you do not need it close it instead of leaving it in the background.

At least on the At&t 8900 the left side convenience key is defaulted to pull up your open applications.

I don't have very much experience with the 8900 but I'm on .199 and my battery life is great. Sounds like this may be a warning to avoid .213 and go straight on to .239. if I feel like upgrading.
