    Battery door question...

    Hey guys!

So I've had my 8900 since it came out and it's the only one I've handled. How is the battery door on everyone else's? Mine is really loose, it's so flimsy and seems cheap.

It might just be a defective one but i'm tired of worrying that it might fall off or something. Before I call T-Mo, I want to see if anyone else has this issue.

    Thanks!

I think it's a little flimsy and cheap too compared to my Curve. I have mine in an Innocase so I don't have to deal with it though. If $30 is more than you want to put into a case you might look at a skin for it. It's cheaper and will protect the case.

Good advice JB, the door is a little flimsy, but still not to the point where you are concerned about it falling off. I second the idea of the innocase, got mine in Monday, and have had one on virtually every Berry I've owned. They are a little steep, but the quality and protection are unsurpassed-IMO.

Not fond of cases that stay on the phone while you use it so I applied a small piece of double sided tape and it really firmed it up. Makes removing the back once a week a little bit of a hassel but it sure made the back stop moving.

I would also suggest you keep an eye on Seidios website. I used their replacement / audio enhanced battery door on my 8320 and loved it. Does not appear they have one for the 8900 yet but I bet it wont be long!

    Thanks for your replies!

I think I still may call Tmo and get a replacement. Aside from the flimsy battery door, I'm also having trouble with the trackball. Moving left and right can be such a pain!

Yes, we will have a battery door cover for the 8900 in the near future.
We will let you know when it is available to purchase online on www.seidioonline.com.

That's cool from Seidio, Gary. I use their products on both my BB's - they're 1st rate all the way.

Mine's fine. As far as using "double sided tape", great idea but you 100% should NOT have to tape the battery door down on any phone of this supposed caliber - Know what I mean. I have the innocase combo and it is great. Be warned, though, that for some weird reason the case leave a few scratches on the bottom corner of my 8900's silver bezel - I actually read that others had this issue too on the www somewhere - I never realluy take it off so it's no big deal. IMO, as well, the Seidios are the best cases around.
