    Backup Error on my 8330

    this morning my 8330 was a black screen with a blinking red light.... I did a hard reset and everything came up and it seemed to work fine, until I tried to do a backup. I have backed up my phone numerous times and it hasn't given me an error, but today it says "error backing up database (s)" I have called tech department at US CELLULAR , they recommended uninstalling desktop manager and installing again, that didn't solve it.... any ideas?

    clear your browser content cache, browser, options, content cache.
    clear your event log alt=lglg, menu key clear

    try that to see if that solve the problem
    When i say i have Bold family phones, I meant it, from the older to the younger, even the unborn ;)

    IT WORKED!!! Thanks a bunch.......any idea why the black screen this morning? no response until I did a hard reset. I am just worried because my last pearl actually had a black screen red blinking light and it never came back to life ..... just wondering

    GHM, are you getting an error message? What database are you on when the backup fails?

    I'm using the bb desktop manager but it fail on different parts when trying to back it up. Maybe I have a bad phone.

    Okay, let's pull up Desktop Manager. What version do you have? I know this works on DM 4.6 and above.

    Go to Backup and Restore>Advanced. The list of databases on your device will populate on the righthand side. Scroll down to Browser Data Cache, highlight it (click on it with your mouse), then press the Clear button. Try the backup again.
