    backlight

Hello all I am a former 8800 blackberry user. On that phone I could manually turn off the backlight by using one of the top buttons (I think it was the power button next to the speaker). My question is how can that be done with the curve. I just purchased it a few (2) days ago and loving it. I would like to be able to turn the light off when I'm not using a holster like when at home.

    Thanks

    Re: backlight

If you press and hold the chrome mute button on top of the device it will go into standby. Then you need to press that same button to bring the device out of standby.

Also, to lock the keyboard, you can hold "alt+enter"

To unlock the keyboard you press "*+the answer button"

    Re: backlight

If dialing from the home screen is turned off you can also just have a quick press of the k key and that will lock all.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~press and hold the mute button on top. That will put you phone in standby. You need to hold it for about 2 second. I use it all the time

    Re: backlight

go into options and change your settings of your screen for the backlight timeout to 10 seconds... that is pretty quick
