    I'm pretty sure it needs to be written into the code. So the app has the option.

    Never seen a option from the device itself.

    I've never seen it either. Maybe the security check at startup will disable it (if it where to be written to the code?)

    An application that will autostart has to be a signed application (costs $100), obtained from RIM.
