App error 523 ?
This morning was the 2nd time I woke up with an "App error 523" message on my 8900. After a battery pull it is fine again. What will be the reason for the error message?
523 - A critical Java process has terminated, and the device cannot continue to operate in a normal manner.
Here is a listing of all the device error codes and their meanings.
Vision, did you install any new themes or apps recently?

Since you are able to get into the phone, you would need to del the corrupted file unless next time you might not be so lucky and cannot boot into phone at all, then you would need to reload the OS.
Exactly. If, as Moto asked, you installed themes and/or applications, you'd need to delete one at a time until the offender is found. Then you can try to reinstall said theme/application and hope it goes cleaner than the last install and you don't have this issue again.
The problem is the phone have only done it twice in about twee weeks. I can turn it off or do battery pull, etc. and it will load correctly. It have a mind of its own.
Guest I need to call T-Mobile and send them the service books or is there a way to check the service books and find the culprit?
So you're saying you HAVEN'T installed any new themes or applications since you've had the device?
I am having the same problem.. Except I have troubleshooted and posted in the forum and no one has responded..
I finally got App Loader and DM to recognize the phone but when its going to uninstall it just lags on "connecting to device" i think its because when the phone reboots it just goes to;
App error 523
I cant even get into my system and I dont even know what to do..
is my beloved dead?

uninstall all your third party apps let it run for a day or two then slowly start putting them back on waiting a day with each one to see which is causing you that problem. more then likely you just had a problem with an app loading bad..
Thanks packet. I fixed it. Through DM. Appreciate your response. Especially when no one else did. I'm over pinstack. Even though this was the first site ever that I visited when I got my pearl couple years ago.

Good advice was given in this thread. No offense, but PacketRat reiterated information that was already posted. If no one responded to you it was most likely because they didn't have an answer, which to me is better than somebody responding with something that isn't helpful at all.
My phone locked up and has message reading: Reload Software: 552. Have only had the phone 3 months and ATT can't tell me how to get the phone back on to move my info to the new phone they sent me.
When I plug the try my DM to trans date, it shows disconnected. I need help baddddd.
