    Another Memory thread

Ok, I need some help... I have searched and read a bunch of threads about optimizing my memory on my BB..

Long story short, I have used maxmem, and deleted everything I didn't need..
I am continuously showing 12,788,000 or around that.. I have a 2GB memory card installed (not sure if that matters). I also got rid of alll archived emails and texts..

I'm running 4.5.0.81 as my OS..

Any tips on how to get my memory back up to 20ish??

    Thanks in advance,
    -Matt

Do you use a lot of 3rd party apps that might be memory hogs?

have you tried using spamdumpster's thread explaining how to delete files from the java loader so that things you don't need aren't installed with the OS...http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...ad.php?t=27293...works great...also disable log entries by typing LGLG (doesn't have to be caps) and disable the event logs...this will save you more memory as well...hope this helps

Are you using any third party apps that require temp file storage and etc? Maybe clear the cache in the web browser and etc...

I just cleared all the cache and push content in my browser.. Memory went from 13 to 14.. I dont know why my phone is running so low. I have checked so many different things.. I don't have any pictures/videos/music saved to the phone. and I dont have anything on my memory card except for my ringtones..

I have one theme and that's a Miami Dolphins theme. About 20 minutes ago, my memory was at 9 !?!

You might want to consider upgrading to a newer OS. While memory leaks are an inherent "quality" of BlackBerry devices, it seems to be less of an issue with the later releases.

You can use this OS on your 8320.

    Hey RoGro,
I actually already have 4.5.0.81.. do you think this is a memory leak issue?? If so, i'm going to just re-install 4.5.0.81 tomorrow...

    Go into option/advance option/applications....

It should give you a list of all your apps. You can use the menu button to delete the ones that you don't need.

Also, check you DM so you don't have those apps install again....

Ah, you might want to update your profile then.

I have that OS on my device as well and don't have nearly the issue you do with memory leakage.

Use Johnny's advice above, but also check and see which apps are running by pressing and holding the Alt key, then press the Esc key (to the right of the trackball). This will shuffle you through all the apps that are running in the background, using memory.

Does your Dolphin's theme use any sort of animation? If you go back to a canned theme, do you still have this issue?
